Improve sleep and energy

Have you ever been told, or told yourself that you are a either a morning or a night person? Well, it really doesn't matter. We were all born with the same mindset. But of course there is some methods that can improve your sleep even more. Here are 7 things to help you improve your sleep, and be energized in the morning.

Clearing your mind

Picture yourself laying in bed, ready to fall asleep, but you just can't. You have way too many thoughts about everything and nothing, instead of sleeping. That's why I would recommend having a notebook or a piece of paper beside your bed, where you can write everything you have to remember for tomorrow on it. It helps emptying your head, and make it easier to fall asleep faster.


Booby trapping your alarm

I'm probably not the only one who have snoozed their alarm in the morning, and then falling asleep again, just to wake up a little later, still tired, and with shorter time to prepare for the day. So you should definitely set up multiple alarms, place your phone in a place where you have to get out of bed to reach it, to turn it off. Or you can use an app where you have to solve a math problem to turn the alarm off. (I prefer the first option). This is to make sure you wake up in the morning, and don't fall asleep again.


Have a reason

Having a reason to wake up makes it so much easier to get up and feel energized. Before you go to sleep, I want you to think of the things that make you wanna get up the day after. It could be a friend you are happy to see again, a activity you're exited about, or even just to eat your breakfast. It can be literally anything, as long as it makes you want to wake up the next day.


"The 10, 3, 2, 1 rule is for the most optimal sleep. 10 hours before - no energy drink. 3 hours - no big meal. 2 hours - no more work. 1 hour - no electronics"

Electronics

As you probably have heard before, you have to turn off your phone at least 30 minuttes before going to sleep. All of the blue light from the screen makes your brain think that it is still day outside. So be sure to a least turn your phone into night mode, and even on mute to stop you from waking up every time you get a notification. I guarantee that you will feel way less tired the next morning.

Bonus: It is also a great idea to dim your light in the room, so your brain can feel a little more relaxed and ready to fall asleep instantly.


Prepared mornings

Instead of using your sleep to stress about everything you have to prepare before going out, it is absolutely a must that you prepare everything for the morning, before you go to bed. Choose what clothing you wanna wear the night before, and pack your bag with the essentials you need. That way, you will be more relaxed in the morning, and stop the stressing before sleep.


Drink water

This is a bit of a weird one, but it ended up helping me a lot more than I imagined.

What you wanna do is, as soon as you wake up you wanna go to the kitchen, and pour half a glass up with water, and then you chug it. Yes i know, how is this a thing? You see, the water helps your body get rid of the toxins from the night, hydrating and refreshes you brain, starting your day off with power and energy.

This is one of the best tricks I have every used to feel more energized in the morning. Feel free to try it. It's absolutely free, and it require nothing else, than a cup, water and 30 seconds of your daily morning routine.
